divorcescience presents the best information about divorce based on behavioral and social science research by a wide range of scholars.
In June 2011 this website was begun by Dr. Robert Hughes, Jr., Professor of Human Development & Family Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The long-term vision for this website is to create a virtual lab for scientists and graduate students, a professional development platform for professionals who work with divorcing families, an interactive educational experience for students and a set of engaging, helpful tools for families going through divorce. This is a “big” goal will take lots of work and many helpers.
I am interested in inviting students, scientists and other professionals to contribute to this work. The goal is to provide a solid foundation for students, scientists, counselors, mediators, legal professionals and especially divorcing adults and children of divorce to find reliable and accurate information about marriage, divorce, remarriage, and stepfamilies.
You can also see my work at the Huffington Post.
