New Findings from Divorce Science 2012

There are some very interesting new reports in the study of divorce in 2012.

The report by Lavner and Bradbury about “happy newlyweds who divorce” is an excellent analysis of what may be happening in many seemingly happy young couples.  There are important implications for those interested in couple and relationship education.  See my Huff Post summary of this study.

Another interesting report is a 36 nation study of children of divorce and their outcomes.  Too often in the US our science is completely focused on samples of US children.  As a result we often miss important cultural and social welfare differences that may influence outcomes.

For more studies that we have found of special interest this year, see our working list of studies.
